| sr |
dc.description.abstract | Wars and armed conflicts are usually considered in the context of socio-historical process, economic interests or political ambitions of certain social groups and par- ties who wish to seize power. Rarely openly are questioned the social-psychological, particularly emotional factors, which directly determine the behavior of people (soldiers and civilians) in the war, which may significantly affect the nature and outcome of the war. After the experience of the 1st and 2nd world war, it was considered that the great wars period has ended and the balance of power, stability and peace in the world was established, especially in Europe and in the Balkans. However, the war in the former Yugoslavia and similar conflicts that occurred in the world, revealed the old geo-political interests, hurt old wounds and caused new hatred, fears and the forms of aggression that could not be expected. That is the reason why more and more is spoken about geo-politics of emotions and issues of cultural identity, as well as fac- tors of history that emerged in the process of globalization. It seems that this approach has ground, because it takes into account the myths, hatred, prejudices, fears, hopes and expectations, as well as the psychological fac- tors that strongly affect people’s behavior, particularly in civil wars, as it was in the case of the former Yugoslavian war. To trigger emotions as the basis of psychological warfare, the mass media are used and modern means of communication, including special psychological operations, so that nowadays it could rather be spoken about the production of war, then the spontaneous outbreak of war. This means that the war is transformed into a form of industry, whose main products are death and profit, which represents a major threat in the future. | sr |
