dc.description.abstractThis work focusses on plant remains from kitchens at the site of Arslantepe (Turkey) to address food processing and household economy throughout the Late Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age. More than 100,000 seeds and fruits, mainly crop remains, have been considered. A similar family-based agriculture is postulated, with an increasing importance of barley as forage since the Bronze Age. Differences between common and elite contexts are reduced apart from the period of political centralization.sr
