Датум првог живописања католикона манастира Пиве

Abstract

У раду се утврђује прецизан датум настанка најстаријих фресака у католикону манастира Пиве. Закључује се да су те фреске рађене од 19. јуна 1604. до 1. августа 1605. године. Публиковани су ктиторски натпис из наоса и натпис о осликавању горњих делова припрате.

In the katholikon of the Piva monastery (Montenegro), dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, one of the most important ensemble of wall paintings created during the Turkish occupation of Serbian lands has been preserved. In historiography, there are doubts about the chronology of the oldest frescoes of the church, although the founder’s inscription, which is written on the west wall of the nave, above the entrance, contains numerous elements for dating. In this text, it is concluded that the first works on the frescoes of the church were done from June 19, 1604 to August 1, 1605. The text comments on the controversial parts in the founder’s inscription. It is pointed out that in two places in the inscription, the scribe himself made subsequent corrections related to the chronology of the works on the painting. At the end of the text, the founder’s inscription was published because all its previous editions contain some errors. An inscription related to the painting of the upper parts of the narthex was also published.
