In the process of providing additional support to students, the use of digital technology plays a
significant role. Encompassing a wide range of equipment, tools, strategies and services, digital
technology can contribute to the improvement and transformation of the teaching and learning
processes according to students’ needs and capabilities. Research results indicate that the use of
technology for supporting students with additional educational needs provides new opportunities for learning and thus encourages their social interaction, communication skills and motivation. However, the application of technology for these purposes faces numerous challenges, among which the lack of equipment and conditions, attitudes towards the application of technology in inclusive education, as well as the digital competencies of teachers and other key actors in education can be singled out. Overcoming the mentioned obstacles should be one of the priority tasks of educational policy.
