Ужиј љубав, зграби „сад“: песме Катула, Проперција, Адија и Милана Ракића

Abstract

Преко бројања пољубаца, Гај Валерије Катул (о.84–о.54) супротставља страст и интензиван живот вечној ноћи, у ствари, смрти (Песме, 5). Сличним поетским путем иде и Секст Проперције (о. 49–о.15), којем доживљај једне савршене љубавне ноћи стоји насупрот рата, разарања, али и пролазности (Елегије, II 15). Од римских колега, мотиве су преузели мађарски поета Ендре Ади (1877–1919) у Бодрењу на љубав и српски песник Милан Ракић (1876–1938) у Очајној песми. Катул и Проперције су савременици, Ади и Ракић скоро исписници. Сва четворица у љубави, страсти, загрљају, пољупцу – најзад и песми о љубави и страсти – виде једину могућу противтежу тами и нестанку

Through the counting of kisses, Gaius Valerius Catullus (born ca. 84 – died ca. 54 BC) contrasts the passion and the intense life with the eternal night, in fact, death (Poems, 5). Sextus Propertius (born ca. 49 – died ca. 15 BC) follows a similar poetic path, contrasting the atmosphere of a perfect romantic night with war, destruction, and transience (The Elegies, II, 15). The motives of their Roman colleagues were taken over and incorporated in the poems by the Hungarian poet Endre Ady (1877–1919) in his Exhortation to Love, and Serbian poet Milan Rakić (1876–1938) in his Desperate Poem. Catullus and Propertius were contemporaries, while Ady and Rakić were almost age-mates. All of them were imbued with the effervescent desire – which keeps one warm as long as poets live and even longer through their poems – to conquer the darkness and disappearance with embraces, kisses, and physical contact, at least briefly
