Руска сведочанства о епидемији тифуса у Србији 1914/1915. године

Abstract

У раду ће бити представљена гледишта посматрача из Русије о разлозима избијања, ширењу епидемије тифуса и тешком стању у коме се нашла њихова мала савезница, крајем 1914. и током прве половине 1915. године. Поред званичних представника, у њему су обухваћена сведочанства руских лекара. Чланак се ослања на објављене и необјављене документе српске и руске провенијенције, сећања савременика и расположиву литературу о наведеном питању

The typhus epidemic in Serbia, during the First World War, lasted from December 1914 to May 1915, with the peak of the contagious wave in February and March. Russian aid in personnel, materials and money played an important role in overcoming the critical health situation. As participants, witnesses from Russia left interesting immediate and subsequent testimonies about the events. In the first place, these are official reports and memories of the events of the Russian Minister in Nish, Grigoriy Trubetskoy and the military envoy, Colonel Viktor Artamonov. Their criticism points to the negligence of Serbs, but they also testify to the huge shortage of food, medical and medical supplies. Doctors Sergey Sofoterov and Nikolay Sichev also described difficult moments and tragic events during the epidemic. All of them, however, did not remain silent observers of the event. The Minister, together with his wife, organised the arrival of medical missions and the distribution of humanitarian aid; Sofoterov, along with his surgical work, developed a successful plan for the recovery of the city of Nish, and Dr. Sichev showed heartfelt dedication for each patient.
