Chapter discusses the performative aspects of commemorative performances dedicated to WWII events in Yugoslavia. A distinction is made between events commemorated, and sites used for the performances (them being of public or private nature). Several examples are being discussed including commemorating the mass shooting of civilians in Kraljevo (Serbia) and the shot members of communist youth at Lazine (Montenegro). Author discussed the decisive role of organized public performances for building and keeping the historical memory and identity of a community.
