Исус Христ као хипнотизер и парарелигиозне представе у опусу Стевана Алексића

Abstract

Последњих деценија 19. века у минхенском сликарству преовладавале су теме о библијским чудима, које су, попут васкрсења Јаирове кћери, биле блиске актуелним спиритуалистичким и месмеристичким теоријама. Визуелне представе о преминулима које укоченим гестом руку оживљава Христос, сведоче у прилог тезе о божјем сину као хипнотизеру. Приказ Христа у ставу хипнотизера, чије укочене руке сугеришу чин оживљавања умрлог, подсећа на разнолике медијумске сеансе. Стеван Алексић је формиран као сликар у помало сомнабулној минхенској атмосфери, која је прожела одређене научне, паранаучне и монденске кругове Европе. Теме васкрсења Лазаревог, успења Богородице и Христа који спасава морнаре од бродолома, одредиле су у великој мери Алексићев религиозни опус с почетка 20. века. Његове слике са темом васкрсавања мртвих и спасавања угрожених иду до границе богохулне интерпретације светих догађаја, које се под велом аутентичног прикaза библијских наратива смештају у домен парарелигиозног сликарства. Оне су у складу с актуелним трендовима у сликарству, и представљају низ криптографских визуелних представа, интерпретираних у светлу Месмерове теорије о анималном магнетизму као последици ванисторијске природне силе.

During the last decades of the 19th century, the Munich painting scene was dominated by topics about biblical miracles, which, like the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter, were close to the contemporary spiritualistic and mesmerist theories. The visual representations of the deceased whom Christ revives by a stiff gesture of his hand, testify in favour of the thesis about the Son of God as a hypnotist. The image of Christ in the posture of a hypnotist, with stiff hands suggesting the act of reviving a deceased, reminds one of various psychic medium séances. The creative transfer of content and form posited the thesis about Christ as a hypnotist in the time and space of the composite scene of the fin de siècle in Europe. The artistic opus of Stevan Aleksić was formed in that cultural and artistic milieu. As a student of the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, he participated in the mysterious and occult world of its leading painters (Gabriel von Max, Max Klinger, Albert von Keller). Stevan Aleksić’s formation as a painter unfolded in a slightly somnambulant atmosphere in Munich that permeated certain scientific, para-scientific and fashionable circles of Europe. The themes of the Raising of Lazarus, the Assumption of the Mother of God and Christ Saving the Apostles from Shipwreck, greatly determined Aleksić’s religious opus at the start of the 20th century. His paintings on the topic of raising the dead and saving those in peril go as far as bordering on blasphemous interpretations of holy events which, under the veil of an authentic representation of biblical narratives, are placed in the domain of para-religious painting. They were in accord with the contemporary trends in painting and represent a series of cryptographic visual representations, interpreted in the light of Mesmer’s theory on animal magnetism as the consequence of an extra-historic natural force.
