Обликовање владарске идеологије деспота Стефана Лазаревића путем текста и слике

Abstract

Циљ овог рада је да покаже на који начин су обликовани владарска идеологија и вла- дарски идентитет кнеза, а касније деспота Стефана, помоћу средњовековне дипломатич- ке грађе и сачуваних писаних извора, као и путем портрета сачуваних у српским средњо- вековним црквама. Велику улогу у томе имала је његова мајка, кнегиња Милица, која је, након смрти свог супруга, кнеза Лазара, морала да се избори са различитим претњама по српску државу како би сачувала наслеђе свог сина. Основне методе на којима је заснова- но истраживање у овом раду су иконолошки и иконографски методи, проширени студи- јама визуелне културе и литерарним методом.

The first years of the Prince Stefan Lazarević’s reign were marked by regency with his mother, princess Milica. Stefan was an underage after the death of his father prince Lazar, on 28th June, 1389. Serbia was ruled by princess Milica on his son’s behalf from 1389 to 1393. Throughout her reign, Milica worked to strengthen and build the royal legitimacy of her son. One of the first steps towards this was the canonization of prince Lazar and the transfer of his relics to Ravanica monastery in 1391, for which Milica had the most important role. The letters that the princess exchanged with the people of Dubrovnik, as well as the array of charters that she and her sons issued to monasteries in Serbia and Mount Athos, also testify to Stefan’s identity as a ruler. After Milica’s death, and especially after 1402, despot Stefan continued his mother’s activities. He shaped his royal identity and legitimacy with the help of images and text, issuing charters to monasteries in which he refers to his holy ancestors. An important testimony is the Life of the Despot Stefan by Konstantin Filozof. The donor’s portraits in Resava monastery and the dynastic painting in Ljubostinja monastery are of key importance for shaping the ruler’s identity and legitimacy of the despot Stefan.
