AB  - Рад се ослања на теоријске приступе развијене у оквиру социо-
логије организације, конкретније схватања институција и организација као
отворених система чије су структуре, системи и процеси одлучујуће детер-
минисани околином. Управо се у карактеристикама околине (друштвене,
културне, правне, политичке, економске и технолошке) могу пронаћи кључ-
ни чиниоци организације и начина функционисања тог типа институција
и организација у Србији. У раду ће бити представљен сложен међуоднос
различитих аспеката околине, који чини контекст у којем те институције и
организације делују.
AB  - The paper is based on theoretical approaches developed in sociology of
organization, more concrete on comprehension of institutions and organizations
as open systems, whose structures, systems and processes are crucially determined
by the environment. Characteristics of environment (social, cultural, legal,
political, economic, and technological) represent key factors of organization and
mode of functioning of this type of institutions and organizations in Serbia. Complex
interplay of aspects of the environment will be presented in the paper, which
represents the context in which these institutions and organizations operate.

Student choice of higher education institutions in a post-transitional country: evidence from Serbia

AB  - The sector of higher education in developed countries has been facing important structural changes over the last decade, which is now expanding to developing countries also. As the competitive landscape is changing, the trend of commercialisation of higher education has become more evident. Higher education institutions (H.E.I.s) have been developing their business strategies, with a clear focus on marketing activities, changes in organisational processes, and even changes in their priorities and missions, thus becoming more lucrative. Knowing student behaviour and criteria for choice decisions and recognising the main determinants of students' choice is the basis for establishing an effective strategy of H.E.I.s. The aim of this article is to shed light on student choice criteria when deciding which institution in higher education to enrol, and to identify main moderating influences. Linear mixed model (L.M.M.) was used as the main methodological tool for analysing the main variation in the attitudes and expectations of students, based on several moderating variables, their socio-demographic and personal characteristics. The results reveal main institutional attributes that HEIs from a post-transitional country can use for the effective market positioning, and the influence of gender, academic aspirations and achievements on the assessment of various students' choice criteria.

Explaining Unsuccessful Public Administration Reforms in Postsocialist Serbia: The Neoinstitutional Perspective

AB  - Public administration reforms in transition countries of Eastern Europe have gained considerable attention from researchers and practitioners in the recent decades. The main reason for this interest has been the fact that public administration transformation is closely related to the overall process of transition from planned economy and socialism to market economy and capitalism. Public administration has been considered one of the key institutional aspects in modern economies and societies, including the former socialist states of Eastern Europe. According to the neoinstitutional theoretical framework, changes of formal institutions (including public administration) are deeply embedded in informal institutions or culture (represented by informal norms and values). The main aim of the paper has been to explain unsuccessful reforms of public administration in postsocialist Serbia utilizing the propositions of the neoinstitutional approach developed by Richard Scott. The analysis has focused on normative institutional elements - informal norms and values. The survey on a nationally representative sample of citizens of Serbia was conducted in 2016, on the basis of the GLOBE theoretical and methodological principles. The study has confirmed the initial assumption about normative institutional elements (informal norms and values) as the most important obstacles for public administration reforms in Serbia.

AB  - U radu se analizira uticaj nesigurnosti na tržištu rada na mentalno zdravlje mladih u savremenim društvima. Pomenuta nesigurnost se posmatra kao deo novih rizika u (globalnom) rizičnom društvu. Otežane tranzicije u odraslost u najvećoj meri se odlikuju teškoćama u tranziciji od obrazovanja ka zaposlenju. Relativna sigurnost zaposlenja i "standardne" karijere ranijih generacija danas su zamenjene odloženim, fragmentisanim i diversifikovanim obrazovno-radnim životnim putanjama. Nametnuta individualizacija u uslovima oskudnih i nejednako raspoređenih resursa za posledicu može često imati i ugrožavanje mentalnog zdravlja mladih.
AB  - The paper analyses the impact of labor market insecurity on mental health of young people in contemporary societies. This insecurity has been viewed as a part of new risks in the (global) risk society. Difficult transitions to adulthood have been mostly characterized by hardships in transition from education to employment. Relative employment security and "standard" careers of previous generations have been replaced by delayed, fragmented and diversified education-to-work life pathways. Imposed individualization in the circumstances of scarce and unevenly distributed resources can often affect the mental health of young people.

AB  - The paper deals with cultural embeddedness of public administration transformations in Serbia during postsocialism. Public administration reform represents an important aspect of transformation of overall institutional framework in contemporary societies. According to institutional approach, the changes of formal institutions (including public administration) are deeply embedded in informal institutions or culture. Theoretical and methodological framework of the GLOBE research program has been used as a basis for the empirical analysis. The goal of the paper has been to identify the scores on cultural dimensions in Serbia and to analyze the correlation of these scores with expectations of the public administration reform. The expected similarity of culture in Serbia with other East European cultures has been confirmed, as well as hypothesis about its norms and values as strong informal obstacles for successful public administration reform.

AB  - U radu se analizira istorijski razvoj i savremeno stanje u sociologiji organizacije i široj oblasti organizacionih proučavanja. Sociologija organizacije se smatra jednom od posebnih sociologija, ali i pod disciplinom sociologije rada. Dva shvatanja organizacije su se izdvojila u sociološkim proučavanjima - organizacija kao proces i organizacija kao društvena celina ili stanje. Saglasnost istraživača da danas živimo u 'svetu organizacija' ukazuje na važnost sociološke analize društvenih aktera i društvenih odnosa u organizacijama, a time i sociologije organizacije kao naučne discipline. Tokom vremena su se razvila četiri pravca teorijskih objašnjenja društvene stvarnosti organizacija - klasični, neoklasični, moderni i postmoderni teorijski pristupi. Navedeni pristupi izraz su promena u društvenoj prirodi modernih i postmodernih organizacija, ali i različitih paradigmi u njihovom sociološkom izučavanju. AB  - Historical development and current state of affairs in sociology of organization and wider field of organization studies have been analyzed in the paper. Sociology of organization has usually been considered to be a sociological discipline, but also a sub-discipline of the sociology of work. Two concepts of organization have been extracted in the sociological studies - organization as a process and organization as a social unit or a state. The agreement of the researchers that we live today in the 'world of Organizations' points out to the relevance of the sociological analysis of social actors and social relationships inside organizations, and consequently the sociology of organization as a scientific discipline. During time, four directions in theoretical explanations of social reality of organizations have been developed - classical, neo-classical, modern and post-modern. These approaches have been the result of the changing social nature of modern and post-modern organizations, as well as different paradigms in their scientific study.

AB  - U radu se nastoje prikazati elementi preovlađujućeg shvatanja kulture u teoriji organizacije. Navedeno poimanje se objašnjava samim odlikama teorije organizacije kao naučne discipline i profesije, konkretnije njenim izrazito primenjenim karakterom. Ekonomska globalizacija i internacionalizacija poslovnih aktivnosti predstavljali su ključni podsticaj razvoja discipline poslednjih decenija. Shvatanje organizacije kao otvorenog sistema uvelo je pojam kulture u teoriju i istraživanja, omogućavajući razvijanje i konkretnih postupaka i praksi za stvaranje efektivnijih i efikasnijih organizacija (prvenstveno ekonomskih). Navedeni vannaučni podsticaj za razvoj discipline upravo je i ključni razlog donekle pojednostavljenog i nedovoljno promišljenog shvatanja i istraživačkog operacionalizovanja pojma kulture u savremenoj teoriji organizacije.
AB  - Elements of the prevailing comprehension of culture in the organization theory have been presented in the paper. This conception has been explained by the features of the organization theory itself - as a scientific discipline and a profession, and more accurately by its dominantly applied character. Economic globalization and internationalization of business operations had been key motives for the development of this discipline over the last decades. The perception of organization as an open system has introduced the concept of culture in theory and in research, enabling the development of actions and practices for creating more effective and efficient organizations (mainly economic). The non-scientific impetus for the development of this discipline has also been the main reason for somewhat simplified and insufficiently deliberated comprehension and research operationalization of the notion of culture in contemporary organization theory.

AB  - Educational and work resources as well as orientations have been analyzed in the paper in the wider context of education-to-work transitions of young people in Serbia during the period of unblocked postsocialist transformation. By using the theoretical approach of social biographies and results of the research on transitional regimes the intention has been to point to social and cultural context and their influence on youth resources and orientations in creation of education-to-work social biographies. AB  - U radu se analizira značaj kafane u organizacionoj kulturi fudbalskog kluba veterana i veteranskog fudbala u Beogradu. Istražuje se uloga kafane kao sjajnog trećeg mesta u kojem se organizuje druženje nakon utakmice - treće poluvreme i proverava teza da je upravo to treće poluvreme i najvažniji cilj organizacije kako pojedinačnih klubova, tako i celokupnog takmičenja. Osnovni pojmovi i pristupi sociologije organizacije čine teorijski okvir u kojem se nastoji sprovesti pomenuto istraživanje - pojam organizacije, organizacione kulture, sadržaj i tipovi organizacione kulture. U ovom interdisciplinarnom nastojanju posežemo i za doprinosima sociologije slobodnog vremena i kafanologije.
AB  - This paper analyzes the significance of a tavern in the organizational culture of veterans' football clubs as well as veterans' football in Belgrade. The role of the tavern as 'The Great Third Place' (in which socializing after the game takes place - the 'Third Half-Time') is studied, as well as the hypothesis that the 'Third Half Time' itself is the most important purpose for the organization of particular clubs, as well as competitions in general. Fundamental sociological concepts of such organisations have been used as a theoretical framework for the research - the concepts of organization, organizational culture, their content and types. In this interdisciplinary endeavor, the contributions of leisure sociology and tavernology have also been considered.

AB  - Predmet rada jesu stavovi studenata državnih univerziteta u Srbiji o reformi visokoškolskog obrazovanja, započetoj Zakonom o visokom obrazovanju iz 2005. godine. Analizirane su percepcije opterećenja studenata obavezama u novom režimu studiranja i materijalnih mogućnosti za opstanak u obrazovnom sistemu. Navedene percepcije su dovedene u vezu sa pristupom socijalne biografije, koji objašnjava interakciju društvenih ili strukturnih (institucije, resursi, norme) i individualnih (resursi, orijentacije, delanje) činilaca u procesu kreiranja obrazovnih biografija mladih u Srbiji. Cilj rada je analiza percepcija reformi studijskih programa i režima studiranja od strane studenata državnih univerziteta i procena u kojoj meri različiti aspekti te reforme predstavljaju podsticaj a u kojoj meri ograničenje za proces kreiranja socijalnih biografiji u sferi obrazovanja.
AB  - The paper deals with state universities students' attitudes about the higher education reform in Serbia, initiated with the Law on Higher Education from 2005. Perceptions of the students' duties in the new regime of the study and material resources for maintaining in the educational system have been analyzed. The above mentioned perceptions have been related to the social biographies approach, which explains the interaction between social or structural (institutions, resources, norms) and individual (resources, orientations, actions) factors in the process of creating youth's educational biographies in Serbia. The aim of the paper is to analyze the state universities students' perceptions of the curricula and the regime of the study reforms, as well to evaluate different aspects of that reform as an impetus or a limitation for the process of creating social biographies in the sphere of education.

AB  - U radu se analizira uticaj različitih obeležja mladih u Srbiji (starosti od 19 do 35 godina) na razmišljanja i delanja u pravcu emigracije. Činjenica da su veoma izražena emigraciona razmišljanja i delanja mladih deceniju nakon odblokirane postsocijalističke transformacije društva Srbije svedoči o niskoj legitimnosti društvenog poretka u percepciji mladih i njihovoj nedovoljnoj integraciji u društvo. Osnov navedene delegitimizacije društvenog poretka prvenstveno se pronalazi u tegobnim obrazovno-profesionalnim tranzicijama mladih i gubljenju poverenja u obrazovanje kao odlučujućem činiocu društvenog uspona mladih.
AB  - The influence of different characteristics of youth in Serbia (aged 19 to 35 years) on thinking and acting in the direction of emigration have been analyzed in the paper. The fact that young people's emigration considering and/or planning is very present even one decade after the unblocked postsocialist transformation of Serbian society testifies for low legitimacy of the social order in the perception of youth, as well as their poor integration in the society. The basis for this delegitimization of the social order can be mainly found in the hardships of the transition from education to employment and losing trust in education as the key factor of youth's social promotion.

Načini društvenog uspona u postsocijalističkoj Srbiji - percepcije i preferencije mladih

AB  - Percepcije i preferencije mladih osoba o glavnim kanalima vertikalne pokretljivosti su veoma važne za integraciju u svakom društvu. Nakon decenije blokirane postsocijalističke transformacije, političke promene 2000. godine odblokirale su proces transformacije srpskog društva, podižući očekivanja mladih kada je reč o poboljšanju njihovog društvenog položaja. Modernizacija i demokratizacija političkog sistema, kao i tržišne reforme privrednog sistema bi zasigurno ovaj proces učinili izvesnijim. Ove reforme, dosledno sprovedene, aktivirale bi mlade ljude i njihove inklinacije ka modernim i tržišno orijentisanim načinima napredovanja u društvu. Ipak, iskustvene analize poslednjih deset godina u Srbiji su ponovljeno ukazivale na veliku razliku između stvarnih i poželjnih činilaca uzlazne društvene pokretljivosti (u percepciji mladih). Naime, iako su obrazovanje i naporan rad istaknuti kao glavna poželjna sredstva napredovanja, bogato poreklo i političke veze su, u stvari, opaženi od strane mladih kao najvažniji faktori u Srbiji u protekloj deceniji. Politička nestabilnost, (još uvek) nedovršene reforme političkog i privrednog sistema i ekonomski rast bez nove zaposlenosti (pogotovo za mlade) su ključni razlozi zbog kojih postoji, manje-više, neprestana razmišljanje polovine mladih da napusti Srbiju zauvek. Glavna teza ovog rada je da upravo pomenuta diskrepancija između stvarnog i poželjnog 'društvenog reda' predstavlja jednu od ključnih osnova takvog načina razmišljanja mladih osoba u Srbiji.
AB  - Young people’s perceptions and preferences regarding main channels of upward mobility are very important for integration in every society. After one decade of blocked post-socialist transformation, political changes in 2000 unblocked the process of transformation of Serbian society, raising young people’s expectations of the improvement of their social position. Modernization and democratization of political system, as well as market reforms of the economic system would definitely make this process more probable. These reforms, if carried out properly, would enable the activation of young people and their inclination towards modern and development-oriented ways of advancement in society. Nevertheless, empirical studies in the last ten years in Serbia have constantly shown large discrepancy in youth’s perceived and preferred factors of upward social mobility. Namely, although education and hard work have been emphasized by young people as the main preferred means of getting ahead, wealthy origin and political connections have been, in fact, perceived as the most important factors in this respect in Serbia during the last decade. Political instability, (still) uncompleted reform of political and economic system and economic growth without employment (especially of young people) are the main reasons why half of the young population has had, more or less, a constant wish to leave Serbia forever. The main thesis of this paper is that the above-mentioned discrepancy between preferred and perceived 'social order' represents one of the key basis of such a way of thinking of young people in Serbia.

Nakon decenije blokirane postsocijalističke transformacije, političke promene 2000. godine odblokirale su proces transformacije srpskog društva, podižući očekivanja mladih kada je reč o poboljšanju njihovog društvenog položaja. Modernizacija i demokratizacija političkog sistema, kao i tržišne reforme privrednog sistema bi zasigurno ovaj proces učinili izvesnijim. Ove reforme, dosledno sprovedene, aktivirale bi mlade ljude i njihove inklinacije ka modernim i tržišno orijentisanim načinima napredovanja u društvu. Ipak, iskustvene analize poslednjih deset godina u Srbiji su ponovljeno ukazivale na veliku razliku između stvarnih i poželjnih činilaca uzlazne društvene pokretljivosti (u percepciji mladih). Naime, iako su obrazovanje i naporan rad istaknuti kao glavna poželjna sredstva napredovanja, bogato poreklo i političke veze su, u stvari, opaženi od strane mladih kao najvažniji faktori u Srbiji u protekloj deceniji. Politička nestabilnost, (još uvek) nedovršene reforme političkog i privrednog sistema i ekonomski rast bez nove zaposlenosti (pogotovo za mlade) su ključni razlozi zbog kojih postoji, manje-više, neprestana razmišljanje polovine mladih da napusti Srbiju zauvek. Glavna teza ovog rada je da upravo pomenuta diskrepancija između stvarnog i poželjnog 'društvenog reda' predstavlja jednu od ključnih osnova takvog načina razmišljanja mladih osoba u Srbiji., Young people’s perceptions and preferences regarding main channels of upward mobility are very important for integration in every society. After one decade of blocked post-socialist transformation, political changes in 2000 unblocked the process of transformation of Serbian society, raising young people’s expectations of the improvement of their social position. Modernization and democratization of political system, as well as market reforms of the economic system would definitely make this process more probable. AB  - U radu se analizira uticaj kulturnih činilaca na strukturu organizacije. U uvodnom delu se određuju pojmovi organizacionog dizajna i organizacione strukture. Ukazuje se na nužnost razlikovanja formalne i neformalne strukture organizacije. Nacionalna kultura se posmatra kao jedan od bitnih faktora organizacione strukture i analizira snaga njenog relativnog uticaja. Kao najvažnije dimenzije nacionalne kulture koje utiču na strukturu organizacije ističu se distanca moći i izbegavanje neizvesnosti, ali se ukazuje i na važnost posmatranja dejstva nacionalne kulture holistički (kao sistema vrednosti). Pomenuti sistemski ili holistički pristup primenjuje se u analizi uticaja kulture na strukturu preduzeća u Srbiji.
AB  - The influence of cultural factors on organizational structure is analyzed in the paper. Concepts of organizational design and organizational structure are defined in the introduction. The necessity of differentiation of formal and informal structure of an organization is emphasized. National culture is conceived as one of the important factors of organizational structure and the strength of its relative impact is analyzed. Power distance and uncertainty avoidance is pointed out as the most significant dimensions of national culture that influence the structure of an organization, but also the importance of understanding the impact of national culture in holistic manner (as a system of values). This system or holistic approach is applied in the analysis of cultural influence on structure of Serbian enterprises.

AB  - Glavni cilj rada je analiza ključnih teorijskih i empirijskih nalaza uticajnog savremenog interkulturnog istraživanja organizacija - 'Globalnog programa efikasnosti vođstva i organizacionog ponašanja' (GLOBE). Navedeno je ostvareno metodom analize sadržaja najvažnijih tekstova nastalih kao rezultat sprovedenih empirijskih studija. Osnovni cilj ovog istraživačkog programa bila je analiza uticaja socijetalne kulture na vođstvo i organizacionu kulturu. Socijetalne kulture se razlikuju na osnovu devet kulturnih dimenzija. Na osnovu skorova na tim dimenzijama, kulture su razvrstane u deset kulturnih klastera. Otkriveno je šest globalnih faktora vođstva, od kojih su neki univerzalno uspešni, drugi univerzalno neuspešni, dok su ostali kulturno varijabilni (uspešni u jednim, a neuspešni u drugim kulturama). Ključni zaključak rada je da uprkos nekim ograničenjima ovog istraživačkog poduhvata, GLOBE ima veliki teorijski, empirijski i praktični značaj.
AB  - The main goal of the paper has been an analysis of the key theoretical and empirical findings of the influential contemporary intercultural study of organizations - 'Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness' (GLOBE). The above-mentioned has been accomplished by the method of content analysis of the most important papers that resulted from the empirical studies. The main goal of this research program was the analysis of the societal culture's impact on leadership and organizational culture. Societal cultures have been differentiated along nine cultural dimensions. Based on the scores on these dimensions, cultures have been classified into ten cultural clusters. Six global leadership factors have been revealed, some of them found to be universally successful, some universally unsuccessful, and the rest of them culturebound (successful in some, unsuccessful in other cultures). The key conclusion of the paper has been that, in spite of some limitations of this research endeavor, GLOBE has considerable theoretical, empirical and practical relevance.

AB  - U tekstu se razmatra uticaj najvažnijih klasifikacija nacionalnih kultura na teoriju i praksu organizacije. Kritički se preispituju prednosti ali i nedostaci kvantitativnih pristupa u istraživanju kultura i njihovog svođenja na pojedine dimenzije. U radu se posebno prikazuju kulturne klasifikacije Hofstedea (Hofstede), Trompenara (Trompenaars), Švarca (Schwartz) i Hola (Hall). Osnovna teza napisa jeste da navedene klasifikacije imaju veliki uticaj na savremenu teoriju i praksu organizacije i menadžmenta i da je, zbog toga, nužna kritička analiza njihovih osnovnih pretpostavki. Kulturni činioci nikako se ne smeju smatrati 'sveobjašnjavajućim', ali se ne sme otići ni u drugu krajnost potpunim odricanjem njihovog uticaja na organizacije.
AB  - The paper deals with the influence of the most important classifications of national cultures on theory and practice of organization. The advantages and deficiencies of quantitative approaches in studying cultures and their reduction on certain dimensions have been critically examined. In the article, cultural classification of Hofstede, Trompenaars, Schwartz and Hall have been presented. Key claim of the paper is that above-mentioned classifications have great influence on contemporary theory and practice of organization and management and, because of this fact, we need critical evaluation of their basic assumptions. Cultural factors should not be considered 'all-explaining' but the opposite extreme of complete disregard about their influence on organizations must be also avoided.

AB  - U radu se nastoje osvetliti kulturni uticaji na procese motivacije u organizacijama. Za razliku od druge dve bitne determinante sfere rada - tehnologije i društvenog sistema, u sociologiji rada i sociologiji organizacije analiza uticaja kulture na organizacione strukture, sisteme i procese je dugo bilo relativno zanemareno područje istraživanja. Pokazalo se da je većina najznačajnijih teorija motivacije kulturno ograničena, tj. da su njihove osnovne pretpostavke i zaključci u velikoj meri izraz vrednosti i normi kulture SAD u kojoj su i nastale. Kada je reč o uticaju kulture na motivaciju u organizacijama, analizirana su prvenstveno shvatanja Hofstedea, te Erez i Erlija. Na kraju rada je analiziran uticaj globalizacije i novoliberalne ideologije na promenu kulturnih obrazaca u post- socijalističkim društvima (uključujući i društvo Srbije), kao i moguće posledice tih promena po prirodu motivacionog procesa u našim radnim organizacijama. .
AB  - In the paper an attempt has been made to enlighten cultural influences on motivational processes in organizations. Unlike two other important determinants of the sphere of work - technology and social system, the analysis of impact of culture on organizational structures, systems and processes has been rather neglected field of study in sociology of work and sociology of organization. The study revealed that majority of the most important theories of motivation has been culture-bound, in other words that their basic assumptions and conclusions represent values and norms of US culture in which they originated. As for cultural influences on motivation in organizations, standpoints of Hofstede and Earley and Erez have been mainly analyzed. Finally, the influence of globalization and neo-liberal ideology on change of cultural patterns in post-socialist countries has been presented, as well as their possible implications to motivational process in Serbian work organizations. .

Pokazalo se da je većina najznačajnijih teorija motivacije kulturno ograničena, tj. da su njihove osnovne pretpostavke i zaključci u velikoj meri izraz vrednosti i normi kulture SAD u kojoj su i nastale. Kada je reč o uticaju kulture na motivaciju u organizacijama, analizirana su prvenstveno shvatanja Hofstedea, te Erez i Erlija. Na kraju rada je analiziran uticaj globalizacije i novoliberalne ideologije na promenu kulturnih obrazaca u post- socijalističkim društvima (uključujući i društvo Srbije), kao i moguće posledice tih promena po prirodu motivacionog procesa u našim radnim organizacijama. ., In the paper an attempt has been made to enlighten cultural influences on motivational processes in organizations. Unlike two other important determinants of the sphere of work - technology and social system, the analysis of impact of culture on organizational structures, systems and processes has been rather neglected field of study in sociology of work and sociology of organization. The study revealed that majority of the most important theories of motivation has been culture-bound, in other words that their basic assumptions and conclusions represent values and norms of US culture in which they originated. As for cultural influences on motivation in organizations, standpoints of Hofstede and Earley and Erez have been mainly analyzed. Finally, the influence of globalization and neo-liberal ideology on change of cultural patterns in post-socialist countries has been presented, as well as their possible implications to motivational process in Serbian work organizations. .",

AB  - Analiza rezultata nekoliko empirijskih istraživanja položaja i orijentacija mladih u Srbiji pokazuje da se može opravdano zaključiti da veliki deo ove populacije živi u materijalnom i duhovnom siromaštvu. Onemogućavanje procesa individualizacije usled zajedničkog života sa roditeljima, nemogućnost zadovoljavanja osnovnih životnih potreba, neinformisanost i nezainteresovanost za važne društvene probleme i tegobna radna svakodnevica samo su neki od aspekata siromaštva brojnih mladih ljudi. Mesto stanovanja i radni status su u najvećoj meri povezani sa sve­ukupnim položajem mladih ljudi. Može se reći da su u relativno boljem položaju mladi iz grada u odnosu na mlade sa sela i zaposleni mladi u odnosu na nezaposlene. To su, može se reći, očekivani rezultati. Ipak, ono što možda nije očekivano jeste težnja gotovo polovine mladih svih ovih pojedinačnih kategorija, bez obzira na pomenute razlike, da svoj bolji život potraži negde daleko od sopstvene zemlje. Razlog je, čini se, u tome što mladi ljudi smatraju da nakon 2000. godine ima pozitivnih promena ali da su one nedovoljne i svojim obimom i svojim intenzitetom (Mihailović, 2004: 26). Jedna od prvih konkretnih promena koje su u poslednje vreme učinjene u smeru smanjivanja siromaštva mladih jeste usvajanje Nacionalne strategije za mlade maja 2008. godine od strane Vlade Republike Srbije. U ovom dokumentu se navodi da gotovo svi mladi u Srbiji u određenoj meri trpe posledice siromaštva celog društva - u svakodnevnom životu, obrazovanju, načinu provođenja slobodnog vremena, ostvarivanju prava na zdravstvenu i socijalnu zaštitu i drugim oblastima. Posebno su ugroženi mladi koji žive u siromaštvu (Nacionalna strategija za mlade, 2008: 13). Donošenje ove strategije je samo prvi korak koji mora biti praćen nizom mera i aktivnosti svih državnih organa kako bi se smanjilo siromaštvo mladih kod nas u svim njegovim oblicima.
AB  - The article has analyzed several aspects of poverty of the young in Serbia today: material and spiritual poverty, housing shortage when the young are concerned and their working problems and difficulties. A substantial portion of young people endangered by poverty has been noticed in each of the mentioned spheres. However, it's been a general conclusion that more endangered than the others are the unemployed and the young people from the country. The article has considered the adoption of the national strategy for the young as the first in the series of steps required to be taken to reduce poverty of the young in Serbia.

AB  - U radu se analiziraju najvažniji doprinosi u proučavanju kulturnih uticaja na organizacije. Početak interesovanja naučnika iz oblasti društvenih nauka za ovu temu vezuje se za 60-te godine XX veka kada preovladava svest o nužnosti prevazilaženja izražene parohijalnosti američkih (SAD) istraživača organizacione teorije i prakse. Sve veća internacionalizacija poslovnih aktivnosti, naročito ubrzana sedamdesetih godina XX veka, nametala je potrebu obimnijih istraživanja i pronalaženja praktičnih rešenja potpuno novih problema koji su se pojavili u sve brojnijim multikulturnim organizacijama. Uprkos brojnim i ozbiljnim teškoćama sa kojima se suočava svako kros-kulturno istraživanje organizacija, višedecenijski razvoj u ovoj oblasti doneo je značajne teorijske i empirijske doprinose i omogućio dalji napredak ove naučne i praktične discipline.
AB  - The paper deals with the most important contributions in studying cultural influences on organizations. The interest of social scientists in this topic began in the 1960s, based on the belief that it was necessary to overcome the dominant parochialism of US researchers in organizational theory and practice. Increasing internationalization of business activities, especially in the 1970s, imposed the need for large-scale studies and for finding practical solutions to the completely new problems encountered by multicultural organizations whose number was constantly rising. In spite of numerous and serious difficulties in every cross-cultural organizational study, several decades of development in this field have produced important theoretical and empirical contributions, enabling further advances in this scientific and practical discipline.

AB  - Glavni cilj ove studije jeste analiza kulturnih uticaja na stilove vođstva i organizacione potkulture u preduzećima Srbije. Hofstedovo poznato istraživanje o nacionalnim kulturama je uzeto kao teorijski okvir za istraživanje pomenutih organizacionih fenomena. Rezultati studije potvrdili su ranije nalaze o nacionalnoj kulturi u Srbiji koja se odlikuje visokom distancom moći, visokim izbegavanjem neizvesnosti, snažnim kolektivizmom i, pretežno, "ženskim" vrednostima. U pogledu vođstva, istraživanje pokazuje da je autoritativni stil apsolutno preovlađujući obrazac ponašanja menadžera u preduzećima Srbije.
AB  - The main intention of this study was to analyze cultural influences on leadership styles and organizational subcultures in Serbian enterprises. Hofstede's well-known research about national cultures has been used as the theoretical framework for examining the above-mentioned organizational phenomena. The results of the study confirmed earlier findings about national culture in Serbia, which is characterized by high Power Distance, high Uncertainty Avoidance, strong Collectivism and, mostly, "feminine" values. As for leadership, the study reveals that authoritative style is absolutely prevailing pattern of managerial behavior in Serbian enterprises.

AB  - U ovom članku su razmotreni najuticajniji noviji pristupi u proučavanju organizacionog vođstva. Posebna pažnja posvećena je teorijama o transakcionom/transformacionom i harizmatskom vođstvu, imajući u vidu njihov značaj i široko prisustvo u savremenim proučavanjima vođstva u organizacijama. Ostali noviji pristupi poput vizionarskog vođstva, osamostaljivanja, timskog vođstva itd. takođe su prikazani. Na kraju, interesantno stanovište da je vođstvo ponekad nebitno razmotreno je kroz analizu glavnih pretpostavki teorije o zamenama za vođstvo.
AB  - Most influential recent approaches in studying organizational leadership were discussed in this article. Special attention is given to theories of transactional/transformational and charismatic leadership, having in mind their importance and wide presence in contemporary study of leadership in organizations. Other recent approaches such as visionary leadership, empowerment, team leadership etc. were also presented. Finally, an interesting view that leadership is sometimes irrelevant is discussed through an analysis of main standing points of theory about substitutes for leadership.

AB  - Ovaj rad bavi se organizacionim vođstvom. Prikazane su najvažnije teorije o vođstvu u organizacijama: teorije osobina ličnosti, teorije o stilovima vođstva i kontingentne teorije vođstva. Glavni cilj teorija osobina ličnosti je da otkriju da li postoje lične osobine koje razlikuju vođe od ostalih kao i uspešne od neuspešnih vođa. Teorije o stilovima vođstva usredsređuju se na stvarno ponašanje vođa. Najzad, kontingentne teorije ističu da ne postoji 'najbolji' stil vođstva i da odgovarajući stil zavisi od situacionih faktora.
AB  - This paper deals with organizational leadership. Most important theories of leadership in organizations are presented: trait theories, 'style' theories and contingency theories of leadership. The main intention of trait theories is to find out if there are personal traits which differentiate leaders from non-leaders and successful from unsuccessful leaders. Theories of leadership styles concentrate on actual behavior of leaders. Finally, contingency theories claim that there is no 'best' leadership style and that appropriate style depends on situational factors.
